As mentioned in the previous news post, the Interguild Olympics have begun. For week #1, the following competitions are beginning:

IO 2010 Pentathlon Round 1 - Try Something New
Duration: One Week: Thursday, July 1st --- Friday, July 9th
Rules: Make your first level in a game that you haven't made a level for yet. For example, if you never made a Knytt Stories level before, now would be the time!

IO 2010 - Math Olympiad (Puzzle Games)
Duration: Two Weeks: Thursday, July 1st --- Friday, July 16th
Rules: We couldn't find any Olympic events to name this category after, so we named it after that old topic evan once made in the Random Chat board. Basically, in this category, you can only submit levels for games under the Puzzles category. You get two weeks.

IO 2010 - Swimming (HATPC Water Levels)
Duration: Three Weeks: Thursday, July 1st --- Friday, July 23rd
Rules: Make a HATPC level that uses water in a significant way, which means that you can't just add water to a little corner of your cave and say that you've used it. We realize that some larger HATPC levels may take quite a while to make, especially when water can get so complicated in HATPC, so you have three weeks for this round.

IO 2010 - Instant Replay (Video Walkthroughs)
Duration: Four Weeks: Thursday, July 1st --- Friday, July 30th
Rules: This round isn't really named after an Olympic event, but at least it's sports-related. For this round, make the best video walkthrough you can. You have four weeks.

And those are this week's rounds. Good luck, and check back next week for next week's new rounds.

For a breif moment I considered trying to enter the walkthrough comp. Then I realized I can barely beat my own levels said,"***** this" and tried something else. I should probably find a level I can beat before I make a walkthrough of me beating it.

COMING SOON: A giant meteor. Please.
Give me +karma. Give me +karma.

whoa already 7 entries on Penthathlon Round One. I'm thinking of submitting a Red Remover level, but I'm not particularly good at making puzzles.

For the walkthrough comp, i may want to make the walkthrough for arrow mayhem. Though highly impossible, i'll try not to film it in parts.

Question: the walkthrough can be for an already existing level, right? It doesn't need to be a new stage made just for the Olympics?

I just figured I'd post it again here, but I'm entering this into instant replay:
http://www.interguild.org/videos/viewvid.php?vid=736

I was just a few hours late uploading it. I've had most of those recordings on my computer for the better part of a year.
