Because Neopets are too lazy to sift through every single cave submitted, so instead they choose it randomly.

I highly doubt it is fully random. The majority of them are possible, and have some semblance of something in side. If you go through the caves found by the cavebot, 99% is complete crap.

Second, I REALLY don't think one sentence is good enough for a blog. Hell, this doesn't have enough substance for Twitter.

This is true, but he's suggesting that they randomly choose from the submitted entries, and if you spend enough time to write an entry, you probably put at least a decent amount of time into the cave.

My guess is that they randomly choose from the submitted list, check to make sure its decent/no profanity in the description, and then make it official.

The play the first bit of the cave to see if it is easy enough, but don't bother playing the full thing. That is why the occasional impossible cave pops up, but they still are all crap.

I actually want to try and troll the CotW, by making a cave that is half CotW quality, but at the end turns into something like the beginning of Genesis. Hopefully they won't play it till the end.

This is the stupidest blog. Ever. The Strawberry Political Party deems this guide invalid according to the "Quantity Matters Act", and therefore should not be taken seriously.

We, as the Strawberry Political Party, have free will to do whatever we want and therefore do not care if we break Interguild Rule #1

We, as the Interguild Political Party, have the right to ban members from the Strawberry Political Party and therefore care if members of the Strawberry Political Party break Interguild Rule #1.

The Oppressive Dictatorial Bunnies Party is superior to any other political parties, especially those based upon fruits.

This is what will happen to your silly little political party...

I tested this theory. Guess what. I won. I submitted a cave I easily made in a minute and I won... but now i get tons of NF requests...

I know it's an easily abusable system, and you can get stupid caves in with little or no effort, but wouldn't if one of us had a good cave win attract more attention/NF requests then just winning period, I mean like a Interguild-Standard level because they'd wanna figure out how to make them?

The problem with that, yaya, is that anyone who could recognize a quality hatpc level would not be trying the CotW on a weekly basis, due to their lack of quality of the CotW's.

There's also the issue of, like soccerboy pointed out, that our definition of a good cave, is a cave that is too sophisticated for the people who choose the CotW's. If you want a good cave to win the CotW, you'd probably have to do make caves, like the ones goldfun has been making recently. Not too hard, and not using any abusive glitches. Even so, I doubt that some of his caves would make it, because they might again be considered too hard or too complicated for CotW standards.

And to top that off, most of the people who are on neopets right now are probably extremely young. People mature, like Cedric, Catta and neezles, so it's not like we couldn't handle a few newbs spamming the forum, but I dunno if we could deal with 10 newbs at once.

And you can't say, "Well, only send the ones that sound intelligent," because as we've seen, neezles was capable of very good grammar and spelling. Of course, I'd say she's more of a troll than a newb.

Speaking of neezles, I wouldn't have ever found these 3 posts by neezles that I never down-rated if it wasn't for you posting on this topic again, soccerboy. Just think; if you hadn't won the CotW, neezles' karma would be 3 higher than it is now...

I've been wondering. The Cave of the Week button in the HatPC window, does it load the cave that is saved as CotW, or will it load the level loaded on the account of the last person to win the CotW? Like, if I submit Level A to the CotW and win, but change the level to Level B the day after I've won, will people who click the CotW button play Level A or Level B?

It will play the cave loaded onto the most recent winner's account. I remember that from a long time ago.

^^^ Same here.

That one guy who won, with some normal sounding cave, but then when you pressed the CotW, and unfinished cave about the ABC's came up or something?

I would suggest making a poorly thought through cave called imperio, and then uploading the real thing once(if) it wins.
