I think that this level should turn out to be extremely user-friendly. It was made with me and Dando in mind, not shos, so he'll probably be able to beat this in 0-5 tries.
I think that the gem is really well done considering it's a steel cave, and I like the heart, too, although that's easier to find than the gem, as long as you're not cheating and looking at the level preview...

this cave is tough. After maybe some 20 tries, I made it to the top right and broke through the end of that path of water crates. | | | Quirvy |

What part about it is that hard? maybe you're making the first trap more complicated than it needs to be...

no, it took me a while to get the timing of the top-right-most trap right. | | | Quirvy |

You mean the part where you just wait for the dynamite to explode the spikes, fall down, and crawl into the space immediately?

You should give us time to view what the arrow will do (first one after the first boulder trap)

Yeah, there are a few traps that'll take you by surprise the first time you play it, so it actually isn't too bad of an idea to view the preview and go through the traps ahead of time, even if it will ruin the gem for you.
Anyways, I think that the coolest trap is the bottom right corner. I had to make beating it really easy, though, or else it would be either too hard or luckbased.

I can't get out of the top-left room. That steel crate always falls on me before I can push the boulder.... | | | shos |

at spelling error:
Anyways, there was one trap in the middle of the cave that appeared to go off wrong randomly(although it looked like it went wrong more times than not). I fixed it, but now the trap is easier( ). So if you died in the arrow barrage in the middle of the cave last night, because the metal crates fell too early, now that's fixed, and you shouldn't have any problems with the rest of the cave. I also edited the gem area, which probably affected no one.

I've beaten this cave all the way through. I tried to get a screenshot of the epic moment, but because of the rushed ending, I only managed to get a screenshot of the "Level Complete" screen.

I take this back, that was the coolest trap to design, because of a mini-trap that made itself, and because of how awesome it was to beat the original traps when testing, while they were harder. I think that the coolest trap is the one right before the final treasure.
Anyways, now that I have beaten this cave, and seeing as how it isn't a puzzle cave, I'm waiting to see who else will manage to beat it, too.

9.6/10 Amazing! I got to the bottom right and died, I really enjoyed this level though. Just the right difficulty. Maybe I'll try again sometime....

I'm guessing it was the second part with the boulder? That was a easy as I could get it. There used to be 2 steel crates below the dynamite crate in that area, but I had to cut them out to make that trap work 100% of the time.

I was talking about the top left hand corner. I got killed by the boulder. It was an accident!
Anyway, im posting via wifi in my handphone. | | | Quirvy |

Well, Harumbai said bottom leftright, so when you said "Yeah. I died at that part" I assumed you meant you did, too.
As I said in the chatbox, the key to beating that trap is landing on the bottom boulder before moving right onto the column of steel crates. If you're playing it the first time, that has the potential to take you buy surprise.
Anyways, I legitimately think this might be the my best fun cave I've ever made, but I may be biased since it's really the only large, linear cave of mine that I've been able to beat in a long time.

8.8/10 Great The farthest I got was the bottom right, but I'm tired of dying stupid deaths whenever I try to get there again and try the next room.
I think this level is great, but not amazing. I like the difficulty, and the simple trap design. I also like how you see the displacements of all the steel crates as you progress through the cave. | | | shos |

7.6/10 Good well I beat the cave after some 20 minutes of stupid deaths. this level was cool in some places, but very weak in others. the first trap was stupid, for example, and the starting area itself was annoying. the one after it was good - up there with the gold, i think we had to time our jump correctly to be able to get left? at least that's how i did it. the next more-than-average trap was at the boulders in the left of the cave(btw, i didn't take the heart but i saw it...didn't think about that, now coming to think of it). i died there a few times till i understood that i needed to avoid the boulder till it falls to the BUTTOM, lol. i also died a few times in the room with the arrow-dodging. it was quite nice actually, seeing as in the sides metals are falling from above next - at the place with pillars of water crates, arrows and metals. huh? why do you need all that? the whole place is useless, you just need the leftmost arrow to get down, then hit it and continue. (i didn't take the gem - didn't notice it til looked at the code after playing). what was i missing here?
so overall, this cave was good, but it's not even close to your regular standards. i've given it a 2 in difficulty since it's long, not since it's worth a 2 of difficulty, hehe.

When you're referring to the first trap, I hope you're not talking about the dynamite crate, because that's really not a trap at all. All you have to do is go forward.
Anyways, shos, I would personally have to say that you and I have very differing standards; you prefer hard thinker caves, while I designed this cave to actually be pretty fun and not too challenging. Out of all the caves I have made, with the exception of Midnight, this cave is the most fun for me to play. I mean, what is my regular standards? A puzzle cave that no one can beat? I've judged a good portion of the Olympics, and the majority of the caves I've played, I have no shot at all to even come remotely close to beating. I would rather come up with an easy linear level that the majority of the players can enjoy and make good progress in than a difficult and confusing puzzle cave that most users aren't able to figure out.

by regular standards i meant, your other caves are usually much better than this, or so i feel, at least. yes, i would expect some harder thinking caves. this was mostly speed stuff so it's 'just' okay imo, you see - speed traps, when isolated, are just random stuff put in there - it's not special. THAT is what i'm looking for - special things. new things. you know.
anyways, i'd like you to comment about that pillars area - cuz i'm still not sure. but, please comment later, i wanna go to sleep and if there are unread topics, i wont >_<

I absolutely LOVE this cave. I think that we need more caves like this. It was entertaining and challenging but not super challenging where it just gets boring. For example here. This video must have taken many tries because of annoying traps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0
Anyways, i got pretty far in this cave, it was very fun and kept me playing since i knew i could go farther. | | | soccerboy13542 |
