Description:
My first Minecraft creation! What better way to celebrate my entrance into the game than forming my own religion? I built it in pretty much 24 hours. I basically was figuring out the game as it went along, so I redid a few things and may have not used the best tiles in certain situations. Thanks to random members who popped by and made helpful world edits while I wasn't looking, Yimmy for helping me destroy nature, and Soccerboy for saving me from forces of the unknown.

These were dark times. As witchcraft plagued the borderlands and strange weather phenomenons were born from the heavens at any moment, people needed an icon of hope. Along came the church. It's well lit atmosphere and slick usage of purple gave the villagers a sense of comfort while shielding them from the horrors of the outside. The congregation did not focus on condemnation of other groups, or greedy hoarding of money, but were content with merely that cool bell in the tower and how expertly crafted the churches pews were. Its popularity grew, and grew, soon the thoughts of evil were as distant as the idea of hope was in the beginning. Whispers of the dark arts still pierce the collective minds of the area, but are gone as far as the people can tell, and hope is here to stay.

I'll take that as a compliment. I would fix the spacing of that first image in the spoiler, but trying to edit anything tells me my description can't be longer than 2500 characters. I know Atvelonis has had problems with this in the past, so I think I'll let it be. Despite the inclusion of a few grammatical errors and switching two of the image captions

Feel free to visit it on the server too. It's sort of the near San Notch. I tried to take the best screenshots possible, but as I found out yesterday, some things are much cooler to see on the server than in screenshots.

Feel free to rate, I won't cry too much

This is about 10000 times better than anything I've ever built. Things I've built include: A randm railway, another random railway, another random railway, another random railway, and finally, another random railway

pronouncing "rare" as re-ah, or 'the hobbit' as lah-ob-eat.
no 'r's alive, you can't hear a british guy says 'there' the-r. it will always be 'the-ah'...

I dont think there are no fences in the garden? Are you talking about the ones in every tower, or the wood slabs that connect every tower? Any specific issues with the garden?

I just wanted the torches to expand outwards towards the stained glass okapi in glorious fashion

I had no motivation for putting the torches in the glass in the front besides that the front looked empty.

The only point of yours I particularly disagree is on the shape. From what I've seen on the server, a lot buildings are just rectangular prisms. No world edit was used, and I think it has a somewhat unique shape to it. I feel like if I gave it a more "definite or intended" shape you would've said it looked off.

I meant the wooden slabs that connect the tower. Putting a fence or something underneath would make them look better.

When I say the shape, I mean the building looks like there are a lot of randomly placed blocks that don't exactly fit in with the design of the building- or any design, for that matter. The shape of the building simply does not look appealing. If you had made a plain, flat rectangular prism, I definitely would've given you a much lower rating. I don't simply say a building looks off because I like finding mundane things to criticize about. If your building was shaped in a good way that had sensible detail without looking too boring and basic, I would've given a more positive review of it.

This is pretty good for a first build.

I really like the fistbumps! The gate and the side windows are cool too. I love the garden on the top, but the wooden slabs on the sides could do with some supports. The back supports are cool too and more realistic than just a floating part. The carpets are really cool IMO.The bell tower looks good from a distance, not so much from up close. It sticks out a little bit too far. I agree with Kro, the stained glass in the back was a nice touch.

The church would probably look better if you used stone brick instead of just plain stone. I personally have always thought that stone looks sloppy no matter what you use it with.  The backs of the benches are a little too high, but I like that you used spruce wood for them.

Also it is awesome that you can see the Interguild Blimp from the church. Good location.

Most of what kro said. I think that it looks cool in some places, like for example the interior, okapi stained glass and the roof are cool. But the overall design of the building is a little bit awkward.
