No. Bad luck happens.
Nintendo did make the Battle Frontier in Emerald and the Battle Tower/Frontier in D/P/P/Hg/Ss cheat against you. All the negative effects of your opponent's moves have double the chance of happening there. I'm sure you are familiar with the various Quick Claw+Sheer Cold/Horn Drill Pokémon. Your only chance of getting a high streak there is by using a team that reduces the possible hax to 0.



If you have Pokémon Stadium 2, it is a lot easier to do. Still took me about 30 minutes to do it.
Speaking of the Mew Glitch, this summer a friend of mine abused this glitch to get all 151 Pokémon on a single game without trading in a few days. It was pretty cool.



Don't be afraid to use healing items, especially for the E4.
If your opponents are too strong, take your time to train your Pokémon against the trainers in that area. There are no disadvantages to being overleveled.
Use your favorites. Anything works ingame.
Don't get upset if you can't beat the Battle Frontier. It is designed for experts of the game, and as I explained above the odds are stacked against you.



If you have D/P/P, it is easy to get shinies by chaining. If you get a chain of 40 or so, the chances of getting a shiny are increased to something like 1/200. There are several guides on the internet on how to do this.

You only need a to find a Ditto. Use Missingno to get 127 Rare Candies, use them on one of your critters to raise their Special stat (preferably by as little as possible, like with a Pidgey), use the Mew trick but after beating a trainer, go find a Ditto in the wild. Have it transform into your Pokémon and resume the Mew glitch as normal. If it is a Glitch Pokémon or a Pokémon you already own, reset and raise your Pokémon another level.

I didn't think Ditto's Transform copied stats?
