Nomic is a game where you take turns rolling a die and then add the numbers on top to your score.
The gimmick is that every turn the player may propose a rule to be voted on which will be added if the majority approves
I believe five players is the minimum this game will work with, so if at least four other people sign up I'll get things started
Rules:
Rolling the die can be done however you want, I trust you all enough to not cheat. I will be using www.random.org (an alternative will be found if necessary)
Turns will last until everyone votes on the proposed rule or after three days, whichever comes first.
Voting will be done through on-site polls. (an alternative will be found if necessary)
rocketguy2: If the number you rolled is higher than the highest score, you take the lowest non-zero score away from that number
you must both roll a die and flip a coin. You must state whether or not you get heads or tails
Yimmy: after every round all players will rank all rules from that round not suggested by them. the person who made the rule with the highest average placement will get 10 points. (a round is defined as every player having their turn end at least once since the last round)
rocketguy2: My rule is that if you lose points for any reason, you must thank the player that made the rule that lost you those points, failure to thank them makes you lose twice the points you would have lost recently.

Clarification, if you get a double, do you roll two dice again, or one dice. what if the extra dice is equal to the previous, do you then roll again? does this stack?

Rolled a 1
If the number you rolled is higher than the highest score, you take the lowest non-zero score away from that number
For example, if the highest score is a 19, and the lowest score is an 8, and I rolled a 24 (somehow), I would only be given 16 points

I rolled a 6. If you don't believe me, I have a screenshot with a timestamp. From now on all rules must be approved by HB even if they have already received the majority vote.
New rule: you must both roll a die and flip a coin. You must state whether or not you get heads or tails. (As of right now, the coin flip has no effect on your score)

You should probably put krotomo's rule into the rule list

soccerboy has taken more than three days so I'll pass it on to Jorster. (go jorster)
i haven't considered what to do if a turn is missed. i suppose if he wants I'll give him the option to make a new rule, but the rest of the turn is gone.

rule does not pass
i rolled a 4 and a tails
new rule: after every round all players will rank all rules from that round not suggested by them. the person who made the rule with the highest average placement will get 10 points. (a round is defined as every player having their turn end at least once since the last round)
this round try to make rules that add something to gameplay because we still have nothing beyond dice rolling

I rolled a 2
I flipped a tails
My rule is that if you lose points for any reason, you must thank the player that made the rule that lost you those points, failure to thank them makes you lose twice the points you would have lost recently.
For example, if there was a rule that said "If you roll a six or higher, lose half that many points" made by soccerboy, and I rolled a six, I would have to type "Thank you soccerboy" in the post where I rolled. If not, I would lose six points instead of three

I roll a 4 and flipped a tails. I rank the rules in the following order:
1. rocketguy2: If the number you rolled is higher than the highest score, you take the lowest non-zero score away from that number
you must both roll a die and flip a coin. You must state whether or not you get heads or tails
2. rocketguy2: My rule is that if you lose points for any reason, you must thank the player that made the rule that lost you those points, failure to thank them makes you lose twice the points you would have lost recently.
3. Yimmy: after every round all players will rank all rules from that round not suggested by them. the person who made the rule with the highest average placement will get 10 points. (a round is defined as every player having their turn end at least once since the last round)
New rule: If your rule passes with a majority vote, then the rule that you gave the lowest ranking will be removed. (i.e. the rule you ranked the lowest is replaced with your proposed rule).
