Welcome to the Interguild's Video Archive! This is a database of all of the videos that our members have made. Interguild Minecraft Server Video Tour - June 2011 - More Info

This is a guided tour of the Interguild's first Minecraft Server! This video shows the current state of the server as of early June. It's hard to believe how many things we've built since the server first opened in April.
The video is pretty long, but I went to some great pains to keep it from being boring. Hope you enjoy the trip!
Dude, couldn't you've put this into parts? Even if I do have the time, I'm not sure if I wanna watch an Interguild video for 90 minutes (no offense to Minecrafters)
COMING SOON: A giant meteor. Please.
Give me +karma. Give me +karma.
That's what I wanted to do, but I made this in VideoPad, which really doesn't give me a ton of options to what I want to export exactly. Cutting it into parts would have involved deleting everything I didn't want in each part, and then moving every individual thing down to the new starting point. A huge pain. I could have split the full movie afterwards, but that would've involved recompressing a new movie for each part. Which is still a pain. At least this way I can get back to working on Aeon faster.
I don't think I'll use VideoPad again anytime soon...
You can still watch it in parts if you remember where you stopped. Just stop after every 10 or 15 minutes or so.
oh by the way, my voice came out sounding really deep in this recording. It was also really low in volume, so I had to edit the recording to make it loader. I'm not sure if that made the deepness worse.
I watched the first forty minutes and then skimmed through the rest of it for the neat bits. This is the first time I've seen a developed Minecraft world, and I've got to say, it's cooler than I thought it'd be. Sort of makes me want to get it, although I know it'd eat up too much of my time if I did.
That secret underground evil church place made me laugh. So did D52's tower, although it seemed like the only thing that was really Interguildy. Someone should build a mock HatPC cave or an Ice Cave or something. I dunno, lol, but it looks like a ton of work went into what was there, so nice job guys. Pixel Art Park was also cool!
As for Videopad, I don't know why it gave you so much trouble; it worked pretty okay for me, aside from the odd crash. Much better than Windows Movie Maker. Maybe it was because you were dealing with so much footage. Also, I'm not sure if you saw my suggestion to to run it in Windows XP SP2 Compatibility Mode. That may have helped.
"I don't want to make this video any longer than it needs to be, it's probably really long by now" - Livio, 1/4 of the way through his video
"It's like a secret passageway... With a sign pointing to it" - Livio
Anyways, I'm not gonna actually watch all of it in one go, I'm stopping at 36:36 to pick up at some other time.
My minecraft-uneducated-opinions:
Even though you were hating on Haily for not filling in the interiors with... stuff, I thought that he had the coolest looking buildings, at least exterior-wise. D52's tower looked pretty good too, but my only complaint is that the logo isn't visible from all sides of the tower, I would have made it a box with the D52 logo on the 4 sides facing outward. But I don't even know if that's possible since I don't play minecraft, and as a result know very little about it and how the d52 logo was made.
But other than that I was actually pretty impressed by D52's tower, and someone should make a sprout tower to rival it, although I don't know what you'd put at the top of it to rival the D52 logo.
Oh, and that one lookout seemed kind of weird, having just a line of blocks going straight to the top. That's not a lookout tower, that's just a tall line of blocks! Unless those were meant to be antennas and the lower structure was the actual lookout, but if those were antennas, they should probably be different looking than the rest of the structure to signify that, and they're probably excessively tall, too.
Anyways, from what I've seen so far, basically what Dando said, it looks like you guys put a lot of hard work into this and it looks for the most part pretty cool from what I've seen thus far.
Lol, what was cool. I particularly like the D52 building and logo, with the ominous switches that -probably- don't do anything. I was thinking maybe you could rig them out to some random things, like maybe dispensers filled with arrows or doors that open onto spawners, or use them to reroute minecarts on certain rails into lava.
yeah Quirvy's right. The D52 logo should be a box so that it can be seen in all directions. Why didn't anyone think of that?
Oh sorry Kingsruffi, I completely forgot about your dome. And to think that it was really cool. The problem is that the only way to really get there is through warps, so because I don't cross by it very often, it's no wonder I forgot.
How about this. I'm gonna add Minecraft to the games list and then we can start adding various locations as "levels" and we can link to screenshots and YouTube videos, and of course, cite its coordinates on the server.
CSD, I'm not sure how redstone works exactly, but stuff that like that would be pretty hard to do, and yet so awesome... Maybe if anyone's willing to put the time into it. And rather than a rail that leads to lava, it should lead to a netherworld portal....
It's only been a few days since I recorded this, but a lot has changed on the server already. Like that weird yellow tower in Easy Ville now has more columns going up into the sky. It must've been under construction. And Haily's filled a good amount of his house with furniture. And apparently he and bmw have been making a Never-Ending Tunnel that goes underneath the Never-Ending Road.
You gain points for detail and uniqueness (it's the first video featuring Minecraft, and it's good as advertising - Dando seems to agree). You lose points due to how long the video is, bad music (that Zelda remix was horrible), bad cutting in the beginning of the film, and not showing off some cool things with Minecraft (caverns, the dome, the testing grounds Snipereborn built [you should have tested them]). However, you still get a 3.5...next time, cut or fast-forward the video more Still, very good job.
Also, you didn't sound at all like I was expecting, but I bet nobody will do that if I ever get to hear anyone else from the Interguild speak...
it would be so much easier if we just had screenshots or 30 second videos for each individual place and have that submitted as a level. A 2-hour documentary with 30 minutes cut out is just ridiculous. I say we just have people submit their own buildings as levels and feature them in the frontpage from time to time instead of this. Not saying its a bad video, just somewhat...impractical.
btw, Haily has kept telling me that he thinks this video shouldn't have been longer than maybe 15 minutes. I don't really think that would've been possible without turning the video into some kind of slideshow, which really defeats the purpose of making a video in the first place. To actually walk you through our world is an experience that only a video can give you, so that's what I was prioritizing, even if it made it very long.
You missed the apple trees by taking the train instead of going on the NER. By the way the apple trees are near Rest Area #1. You also didn't go to the giant tree stump. I guess it looks too much like a mountain...
Quality video, mate! Got me up to speed pretty quickly. However, it would have been a lot cooler if you'd made a little series out of it SeaNanners style. *Tune in next time for more Livio adventures...* Perhaps an idea for the future when the world has expanded.
