Have you had your video walkthroughs muted by YouTube? Fear not, this guide will solve your problems.
I take no credit for this, I found this on another website (smashboards.com), but the information is very helpful nonetheless.
Quote: Instead of replacing the music on which you made your video around with something from Youtube's selection, just follow these steps
1) Select "Resolve Copyright" on the video you are having copyright issues with.
2) Scroll down and pick the option "I want to learn more about this dispute process".
3) Scroll down and pick the option "Take me to the dispute form".
4) Pick option #2 and PASTE the following statement into the text bar next to it;
"Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."
5) Fill out the rest of the info on the page. Use your REAL name and continue
6) Scroll down on the next page and select "Submit dispute".
The music should be back within a few days.
This guide may be slightly obsolete now though, because when I checked through all of my videos to see if any of them were copyrighted, I noticed that all of my videos now work perfectly fine. Nevertheless, should you get any problems, this guide should solve it.

Or... ya know you could always speed up/slow down the music by 5%. But each to his own I guess.

I think Shos is right that this guide deserves credit. I tried this on 2 of my videos and followed all instructions. The one video was blocked in Germany I think and the other just had "third party material", but both notifications went away when I did this, so I think it works. (or they did it to distract me while they send a "third party" to assassinate me).

Ah, yes. I come back from vacation to see my claim for Recent Caves Of Mine is "still awaiting a response" (taking wagers on how long it'll take for one, I guess 2 months with a rejection) and my Return Trip walkthrough's (this one is blocked in the USA apparently, still need that confirmed) was rejected on the basis that "All content owners have reviewed your video and confirmed their claims to some or all of its content". The only thing I can think that I did wrong was I pasted in the quotation marks of the Copyright disclaimer, which made in look strange upon retrospect.

Sorry to double post. One of the disputes I filed finally got results that, "All content owners have reviewed your video and confirmed their claims to some or all of its content". As a result my video has been block in 239 countries (I didn't even know there were that many, lol). Thankfully any Interguild members who live in the Aland Islands, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, Saint Barthelemy, Saint Martin and West Bank can still enjoy.
Can somebody confirm that this video is blocked? I think there's a chance it may play normally for me because I am the creator.

Eeyup, EMI has been doing a lot to claim more titles recently. It's blocked.

Yeah, that concerns me cuz I just finished making a video with EMI music. Meh, I think 1-2 other vids of mine use EMI and are only blocked in Germany, so there's hope. *Makes mental note to audioswap video I linked*

This is not too far away from me! Only a few hundred kilometers.
It's not a country but it DOES have it's own flag. =p | | Livio |

My YouTube account is not in good standing. This means I cannot upload videos longer than 15 mins, which is a pain when it comes to making the server tour vids, but I also have some longer videos that I plan to upload in the future, so I decided to start investigating on how to fix this.
It turns out that I have 5 videos uploaded that cause copyright disputes, forcing them to be blocked in some countries. One of them is Shos's Caving Video Project Part 3, four of them were Jdouble's videos that I uploaded for them, and the last one was the walkthrough for NES 3: Space Battle. One of jdouble's videos had an infringement that was so serious that it had been blocked everywhere.
So I went into YouTube's video editor and tried to mute that video, but they ONLY let me audio-swap, but not mute it. So I ended up audio-swapping it with some stupid sound effects track called "Traffic / Traffic on a Post Road". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfqqSVSa6kM
Before I do the same to the other videos, will anyone complain if the following videos are replaced with the same thing? Or do you have any music suggestions from the audio swap library of songs to replace these vids with? | | shos |

wasn't my video like 20 minutes long or something? part 3 was lengthy.. o boy, was I motivated back at the time when I had time.
you're welcome to replace any music you need to, but just find GOOD replacements...

lol I only had three jdouble videos, not four.
I don't think YouTube lets me put multiple songs, or even loop short ones, so I'm going to go with one of their many 20-minute long songs. Most of them belong to the mysterious "Other" genre, a good number are classical, but there's also this one country/fold song?
Also I almost can't believe how horrible some of jdouble's vids are. | | Yaya |

Bahahaha, 9 of my videos contain copyrighted disputes, and 5 of mine are blocked in countries (mostly Germany), and I can upload 15 minute videos. Up yours! I guess I'm lucky.
In the event I need to audioswap something, I just look for the most bearable instrumental I can find. My Code Red Walkthrough and my Return Trip Walkthrough don't sound too bad after being swapped (the latter sounds like ***** music, though).

Shos, your video is so long that it broke YouTube's editor, so it's not allowing me to listen to the audio swap unless I save the changes and wait for YouTube to process those changes in a few minutes.
So the first song I picked for you is called "Part 3": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-EahYgMORE You may have to wait a while to listen to the edits. | | Isa |

Uh, yeah, like everyone else. 15 minutes is the standard for those who have broken copyright claims. The rest get unlimited. | | Cedric |

Weird, I have two videos that have music copyrighted, and it says I can upload videos longer than 15 minutes. o.o Those videos aren't muted though. | | Livio |
