This guide allows you to load any level, any size, regardless of uploader glitches. You can bypass all uploading errors Neopets forced upon the users.
'canadianstickdeath' said: One time:
Step 1: Download Fiddler
Step 2: Install Fiddler
Every time you start Fiddler:
Step 3: Type into the black bar at the bottom left.
Step 4: Click "Inspectors" and then "TextView" on the tabs on the lower half of the right side.
For every cave you want to load:
Step 5: Attempt to load a level (one that doesn't exist is fine).
Step 6: Find the http request for "/games/cavemaker/pirate_level_load.php?username=usernameyouenteredinhatpc" on the list to the left (it's probably the bottom one).
Step 7: Click "Break on Response" (middle-right).
Step 8: Click "TextView" and replace the contents of the lower text-box with the cave you want to load.
Step 9: Click "Run to Completion".
A convenient method could probably be made so that you could load levels without having to repeat those steps every time, but it would take some work to do and IDK what the set-up would be like on your end.

Test results of using this method of loading levels with errors in it include, but isn't limited to, the following:
'canadianstickdeath' said: - Invalid Terrain Type: Either crashes as soon as it reads the terrain type or crashes as soon as it tries to load any terrain.
- Invalid Background Type: Background is all black. Crashes after a second.
- Invalid Water Type: Crashes as soon as it tries to load a water level. Water taps will load but will not function. Let them run a few seconds or break a few water crates and it will crash. The stream of a water tap is falling is visible, but only the white line.
- Multiple Starting Positions: Only the last starting position in reading order will function, though all of them will appear on the map.
- Multiple Water Levels: Appear to function pretty much like you would expect, essentially creating a row of air pockets starting at where the 2nd water level is placed. Could potentially see use in a cave in order to have an object inside of an air pocket at the very start, but I can't really see that being worth the trouble.
- Especially Large/Small Levels: Load correctly.
- Titles: You can put anything you want. Blank title works fine. Really long title pushes "press jump to start" downward. Not really sure if there's a limit to how long of a title you could use. If you want, you can have the game tell you that it couldn't load the level because you're too stupid using the error; thing.

OK, so, as long as Fiddler is open, all your data is going through the Fiddler proxy. That should mean that whoever runs that thing should be able to view all the data you send. That's why I have to recommend that you only have Fiddler open when you're using it to play HATPC. OK? Alright then...
Today I want to work on maybe speeding up the saving of files but IDK if there's a way, really, to save a 1000x1000 cave without concatenating a million strings together. I wouldn't recommend going above 300x300 with how the cavemaker runs right now. It's about 30-45 seconds on my computer to save or to generate that map text. | | shos |

what do you say about a zoom-out option, now that we might have such big caves?

So if somebody released a 500x500 cave with Fiddler and such. It'd upload normally since it's already in the system without using Fiddler?

If you mean it'd upload normally to the site, then yeah. Otherwise IDK what you're talking about. There MIGHT be a size limit, but you'd have to ask Livio about it. | | Yaya |

Nevermind, I got confused by the fact that this involved less usage of Neopets. Understood.

I recall suggesting something sort of like this on the old guild website, but everyone thought I was crazy. If I have the old URL, I may be able to dig up the post.
Edit: http://interguild.domingo.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=78863&highlight=#78863. Not the same, but simialer in which the request is redirected. I wanted to test it a few months ago, but my dad didn't have the time to configure Squidproxy differently. Maybe if I was a better writer a few years ago and my post made sense...
Edit2:Thanks to BMW for the old forums URL. | | shos |

Provide a screenshot please and tell me what step you're stuck on more detailed - I am guessing 7. It works for me still, but I got an interesting yellow bar telling me I had to do something, which I promptly ignored. | | soccerboy13542 |

Speaking of that, how does my cavemaker manage on your computer? The .bat file probably won't work but it should be possible to run it if you go through a few extra steps.
As far as intercepting http requests and responses on a mac, I'm sure that Fiddler isn't the only program out there that does that sort of thing. You could try googling and seeing if you can find something else to do the trick? You'll probably have to read some tutorials to figure out how to use it... | | fungus |

I've run into a problem with this guide, delaying my comp submission time.
I downloaded and installed Fiddler. I put Code: bpu http://www.neopets.com/games/cavemaker/pirate_level_load.php in the small lower-left box. I pressed enter, and attempted to loaded my level from the Games > HatPC tab thing on this site. I then tried to paste the level's code into Fiddler > Inspectors > TextView, but it didn't paste--I'd try right clicking and pressing Paste, and pressing ctrl + v. None of them worked. | | Isa |

Did you remember to select the correct URL to the left after trying to load a level? | | |
