What is the Interguild League? The Interguild League works like any sports league. All the entrants are divided into an even number of teams. Then every week, each team must play against one of the other teams. Both teams make one level. If your team has made the better level you get 3 points, if both levels are equal in quality both teams get 1 point, if your team has made the worse level you get no points. Every team plays against every team twice, one Home game and one Away game. Once all the matches are played, all the points are tallied and a winner is decided! That is neat! So for what games do we have to play the levels? This is what separates the Interguild League from other similar competitions. What happens is that every team gets to choose one game as their "Home" game. Every time this team plays a Home game, both teams will have to make a level in this game. So choose your game wisely! If you pick a game which your players are far more experienced in than the other teams, you can score easy points. But you should also remember that you have to make a level for your game once every 2 weeks. So if you pick a game with little possible creativity, you will soon find yourself in a writer's block. It should also be noted that the schedule will be decided from the very start of the League. So you will know in advance exactly when you will need to submit a level for each game. This allows you to work ahead. It also allows you to put more effort in one round than another, so you can forfeit one match to be assured you win another. And because you are a team instead of just a single player, instead of collaborating on each level you can also decide to assign one player to each game and have them make the level by themselves. How will the winner for each match be decided? Every game will have two judges assigned. Both judges need to decide which level of the two they thought was the better one. If both judges agree on one level, that level wins, if the two judges both pick a different level, the match is tied. To keep the pace high, we will require the judges to judge each match in one weekend. Because this is merely a comparison between two levels, this shouldn't be too difficult. Awesome! How do I sign up? By posting right here in this thread. You can sign up here as a player or as a judge. The sign-ups will last until July 20th. The teams will then be assigned, each team will be given their own board to discuss things and the actual League will start August 4th. If you have any more questions, ask them here.
