basically I am suggesting a mobile interguild. the current one takes like 1 millenium to load when you use a phone, so I suggest that liv create a mobile version, which includes

-chatbox
-full access to forums
-blogs
-news posts
-some mod powers for staff members
-karma rating
-basic features of user control panel

but will NOT include
-videos
-level archive
-games
-other stuff not mentioned.

preferably the mobile version's layoug should be a simplified layout of the real interguild but with limited graphics and webpage size must be small (ie. under 50 kb).

what do you guys think?

ps- I am against the idea of an iphone/ipod app as not everyone here owns an iphone/ipod touch. so an iphone/ipod touch app would only benefit those with the devices, whereas an m.interguild.org would benefit all those with handphones.

I'm in favor of the idea. But I think that it isn't worth making one at the moment, considering the amount of work Livio has on his hands (as always) and the low amount of people that would use it.

I'm getting an iPod Touch for free one of these days. I'm sure once I start browsing the Interguild on it, I'll eventually get annoyed enough to make a mobile version of the site.

Lol, that reminds me. On the (free) iPod touch I have, (it was free because in Vancouver, the offer starts in May) the website is a little messed up. Or maybe it's because of the iTouch?

a lot of sites get messed up by mobile devices b/c of the zoom features they have.

Hmm, speaking of layouts, look at www.whitehouse.gov They have a top bar similar to ours, and yet they also put all of their links at the bottom of every page. I wonder if that's a good idea.

Also, a stupid thing with this iPod is thst the keyboard is hard to type with. Another priblem is the 'Post a Reply' box. It's difficult to srcoll and just looks strange, since the iTouch just zooms in inro the box thingy. Those buttons that add the censors like the bold text into tge post box area thing, it just doesn't work. O dunno why, but it just doesn't allow you to type inside those brackets. I'm pretty sure you're not taking me seriously here. autoplaying 2 videos from youtube hidden in spoilers in your signature, especially if you post on a page more than once, is not only annoying, but can also get csd's computer(or stuff) stuck. if newbies come here and have to deal with it, without knowing what happens or any ability to change it, they may just leave the site. when a mod threatens you with suspension, do not taunt them, because people have been suspended and banned before you, and you're no different.

sounds like a lot of work is needed to get that working. Getting the server to respond to phone numbers and stuff. I'd say that it's probably not worth it.
