Sounds like the Interguild has been pretty dead recently, so let's DO SOMETHING. I don't think people are interested in yet another HATPC comp, let alone another comp in general, so let's do something different.

Here are some ideas:

--we could organize a game on the Interguild Steam group

--maybe set up a meetup/event on the Minecraft Server

--we could try starting that interguild podcast idea, where we record a voice chat between many of us members.

--we could make more Portal 2 levels, or maybe some [insert different game here] levels

I personally want to experiment with setting up that podcast idea. What do you want to do? Any other suggestions for a kind of community event that we could do?

What to podcast if there's nothing happening?

I'm up for playing DotA 2 with Interguilders. That's the only multiplayer game I own on there. =p

I thought the point of the podcast idea was to also talk about things that weren't as interguild related?

I don't own Dota 2. What kind of game is it again? It seems like all of the trailers I've seen were pre-rendered movies, rather than gameplay footage.

Apparently QTT has a fan, seeing how it is uploaded somewhere. That level was never serious anyway, so I don't count it as a proper level.

This is what I read where you linked me. =p

Although, I didn't really take a deep read into that topic. Did people actually make any caves for it yet?

Geez, I wouldn't want to do the chat thing. I always mess up l's and r's because of my Japanese class.

Buboy is making a collab with Harumbai, whether or not it's for the comp, I have no idea. Anyone else trying to do anything for it? You know, there can always be two events at once.

I like this one- a few of us probably have Steam, including me.

I suggested earlier to do a browser based game with the Interguild, such as Age of Chaos or Nationstates. Doing something on Steam is going to be more difficult because not everyone might own the games and everyone is in different timezones.

More than one event for different games, so if someone doesn't or can't participate in one, they can participate in the next.

Oh de noes Nationstates!
I had like 22 nations on there until I started being too lazy to keep them all alive.

I have a nation on there (Sproutington), but I'm getting tired of the how terribly it keeps track of my legislations. For example, nudism is mandatory, yet I regularly get issues about females dressing too provocative. Or I have hallucinogenic drugs infused in the tap water and I have no drug laws at all, yet drug use in Sproutington is only slightly higher than world average. I've also nuked Bigtopia so many times already I've lost count, yet they keep putting my citizens on death row.
It's a fun site, but after a few months its limitations become pretty obvious.

Too 'ty', eh? Lol censorship.
I created a nation a while ago, apparently it's a 'Scandinavian Liberal Paradise'...

My NationStates description:

The Dictatorship of Jorsterton is a fledgling, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its absence of drug laws. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 5 million are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The large, moralistic government devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Religion & Spirituality receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 29%, but much higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Arms Manufacturing.

Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Jorsterton's national animal is the Crumple-Horned Snorkack, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Arsehat.

I do notice, there are 200+ members on the Interguild, and only a few are very active. What happened?

Podcast sounds cool. TF2 sounds good too, especially since it's a free game which pretty much every computer can run.

Yeah. I'd be up for some TF2, and a podcast would be cool if we could come up with enough stuff to talk about.

Wait a sec, how do you get new members to join? I've never seen any advertisements for the Interguild. I have an account because krotomo introduced it to me.

I came from the dead guild page that I discovered in 2009 and found this site from it. That's how.

Bump.

Why not get some money and make an ad or something?
