In a bizarre turn of events, two games have been added to the site within two days. Don't worry, it's not the end of the world. I have had experience with FR3 in the past, so I didn't need to try it out much before approving.
What does FR3 offer that its predecessors do not? It is immediately noticeable that the game engine is much sleeker. Everything runs more fluidly and is less likely to lag. Secondly, line placement precision has greatly improved; the zoom function is much more vast, on-grid lines are easier to place, and off-grid lines can be placed more intricately. The rider also moves slightly faster, which can be a good or a bad thing (you know who you are).
Free Rider 3, showing off.
Are there downs sides? Unfortunately, the vehicle selection has been obliterated. All that is left is the BMX and Mountain Bike. Thus FR2 remains the manliest game on the site with the inclusion of the unicycle, and FR3 is also missing my personal favorite, the ??? (Blob). And I'm sure there are some freaks out there that liked the hot air balloon too. I recommend you direct any other questions regarding these games and what they have to offer towards Soccerboy, who I consider to be the Free Ridin' Sage of The Interguild. Seriously, he knows his stuff.
Anyways, FR3 improves enough on its former while FR2 still retains some unique mechanics, so both shall remain on the site. Free Rider and Free Rider 2 have declined to comment, but were seen exchanging snide remarks at brunch earlier today. More details to follow. And remember, we add these games to the site, regardless of the pace at which we do, so you guys can create levels for them. This isn't one of those games that has a finite level size and only a few creative options. It is as infinite as FR2 and is definitely easier to make levels in. I expect to see some levels-- fine, a level. I'll accept that.
I WANT YOU! TO MAKE A FREE RIDER 3 LEVEL!

woohoo!
...so what's the difference between FR3 and the earlier versions? *reads topic* lol
Can early versions of the game make levels that are playable in this one? I mean, is an FR2 level playable on FR3? or in other words: can we remove FR2 and 1 from the gameslist?

Codes can be used between FR2, canvas rider, and FR3, but they have different functions. For example, with checkpoints. In FR2: if you hit a checkpoint, when you press enter, the character will go there but be motionless. In FR3 and Canvas Rider (which no longer has an editor), the checkpoint retains momentum.

It's come to my attention that Free Rider HD is in Beta. It is very similar to Canvas Rider, but it has better tutorials (such as left, right, brake, change vehicles, etc.) I'm not sure what other changes there are going to be. From what it looks like, there will be actual campaign mode, opposed to just a level editor. Looks good.
Just trying it out: there's also a race feature.

this was just a random track i played that i decided to get a high score in. If you click my username in the high-score box, you can race my best time.
To get a link for your race, take the name of the level
http://www.freeriderhd.com/t/2319-like-it-and-love-it/r/soccerboy13542
and put your username after the level and /r/
you guys can probably figure that out.

I feel like the system for HD is a little bit better. Instead of doing the last time you got, it does the best time.
I'm not actually sure what it was like in 3, since it was just added here, but I like it more.
In Canvas Rider, you had to be in Top 5 to share replays.
