We are a unique community that provides fan services for basically any game that is submitted into our system. We take any game focused on some form of user-made content and provide services that help our members share their creations, videos, guides, etc. We periodically hold competitions for these games too. The idea is to help games reach their full potential by helping fan communities to grow around them. To learn more about how our system works and how you can submit a game to the site, click here.| HatPC Comp #34: Walkthrough Competition | This is a competition we've had in the fridge for a while now. But it is time to finally start it.
For this competition, you need to make a cave that follows the following walkthrough. We don't care how the cave will be like, as long as it fits the walkthrough.
Credit goes to Dondax for the walkthrough. HatPC Comp #34: Walkthrough Comp Start Date: Monday, Feb 8, 2010 End Date: Monday, Feb 22, 2010 Game: Only HATPC content is allowed Competition Rules: As the cave begins, jump on to the boulder to your left, and then jump up and hit the arrow. This will open up the passage out of the room, but it will be re-blocked a few seconds later. Therefore, quickly hop over and push the boulder through the spikes to get out of the room before it is blocked again.
From there, you should see the first treasure chest. Don't get it yet! Jump over it and hit the dynamite crate to the right, and then jump over the arrows that come flying towards you. The treasure chest should protect the boulder from them. From there, go back to the boulder and push it down the hole where the chest was. Hold right as you land so as to avoid the spike, and then jump over the boulder and push it to the right so you can use it to jump up to the platform.
Unfortunately, you have no choice but to activate the arrow above you, so do that and then quickly jump up on to the trail of metal dynamite. Hurry across and up the path as it explodes, and then, when you reach the top, jump and grab the ladder. Climb up to the platform. The boulder puzzle here is pretty straightforward, so solve it and then use one of the boulders to break the platform in the floor.
Jump in. You'll hit an arrow crate and then land on the terrain. The trap here is laughably bad, so you don't have to do anything to avoid it. There's also a room to the left that contains a heart crate on a platform surrounded by spikes, but it doesn't look like it's possible to get, so don't worry about it. Anyway, push the boulders down, and then jump down after it. You'll land close to where you left the first boulder.
Now that you have two boulders here, you can push them both into the spike pit to the left, enabling you to run to the door, which is now open. There is an arrow crate by the door that unblocks the path to the gem. However, getting to the gem is not covered in this walkthrough. The end! | Interguild on Twitter! | Apparently, the Interguild has had a fully functional Twitter account since last Sunday. 0_o
Anyway, you can now follow the Interguild on twitter! Our tweets are directly attached to our Facebook updates, so there's really no need to follow both of them, which means that you are free to use the website you're most comfortable with. | | Post a comment >> |
| Weekly Update Jan 30 | The Interguild started a Facebook group last Sunday, but we quickly deleted that group and replaced it with a Facebook page instead. Become a fan, and invite your friends!
On Saturday, I released the Fake Crates Comp Results, which had been sitting in the Judges Board since Monday. You can blame Isa and jell for that.
Last Sunday, the final Run-Off polls closed for the Best of 2009 Awards. The results were available late Sunday night, but it wasn't until Wednesday that I got to make that giant news post officially releasing the results. It took me like an hour or two to write up that giant post and include all the links and stuff. In fact, I remember I was watching the press release of the iPad in another window as I wrote it up.
However, most of the trophies for the Best of 2009 winners and nominees weren't released until Saturday, where I spent another two hours making all 61 of those trophies and putting them in the database. It was horrible...
Also on Saturday, I added our karma system to IceCaves.net, in return for all the things Haily's done for this site. According to the time difference between my chat box posts, it only took like half an hour to put up.
This week, Harumbai released his Compact Series Walkthrough, and I have to say that it's a very impressive video. Teo_pl also released his Neptunia Walkthrough, which is also really cool.
This week we reached our 100th registered member, and at the time of this writing, we now have 101 members.
Also, Quirvy has been impersonating me in the chat box. So be on the look out.
On Thursday, I got a really cool idea on how to further improve the speed of which Aeon loads levels. If it works, levels could load for you in only a few seconds (as opposed to several seconds, lol) if you have a decent computer. I still haven't experimented with the idea much because of all of this other time-consuming stuff that I just mentioned.
And from what I remember, I don't think I've made any real progress on the new layout since last week. I plan to make more progress on that this week, but I also plan to work more on other things around the site, instead of focusing all of my time to that one project. There are still too many glitches to fix, and I have some old new features that have only been half-coded and never finished. | | Post a comment >> |
