@Jellsprout Even after years of trying, I just can't get into this black/nu/death/crazy-screaming metal stuff (don't give me a b*llocking over what the genres are called, they all sound like crap to me). The rhythm guitar often seems to have this repetitive, cliched sound that I seem to hear in every other modern metal song and as soon as any of the band members open their mouths, I can only cringe. At my very limit, I enjoy Slayer, but only a handful of their songs. I just don't understand why anyone would listen to a song where you can't understand the lyrics due to them being screamed/roared. None of the bands seem to produce any exciting/creative music like bands did back in the 80s and beyond; it's a real struggle to find anything from the metal genre these days that's worth listening to.

Anyway, I'm currently listening to Hangar 18 by Megadeth, the only Megadeth song that's enjoyable enough for me to ignore how much Mustaine annoys me.  

What type of music do you like, Jebby?

I'm with you on that, Jebby. I can't see the appeal in screaming/growling metal at all. I'm told that you're supposed to view the screaming as if it were "just another instrument", but I've tried that and it didn't make it suck less to me. Oh well, to each his own.

Citizen Erased- Muse

I have a strange attitude to music in the sense that it's not really a significant part of my life. I like a wide range of genres from jazz to techno to metal to classical, but in each genre I only enjoy a few songs/artists. I've listened to a heck of a lot of music, but only about 0.1% of what I hear is worthy of going on my iPod, which I only listen to once in a blue moon. If I had to specify favourite genres, I'd say alternative rock, thrash metal, gypsy jazz, ambient music and electronica in general. Not a big music fan though.
