This seems like it raised activity to me. 24 replies, not counting this one, in less than 48 hours is quite good.

You're also overrating the impact of Minecraft. For the past three days, we've had posts in 27 different topics. Six of them are Minecraft-related, and four of them are forum games - that included Mafia, by the way. So 17 out of 27 topics that has had posts for the past three days have NOT been a forum game or related to Minecraft. Even if we scratch this one and the Oblivious version of it, that is still 15 out of 25 - 60%.

yes, this had raised activity, but for a mental price for me. It's not the karma I'm referring to here, just a reminder. Also, I really can't see how you count. in my more topics button, I see (in order), when in brackets are the ones which are not MC or forum games:

MC topic
forum game topic
(Bug reports)
(staff discussion)
MC
MC
(Old interguild)
FG
(level 20 uploadable)* - don't we already have one of these?
MC
This topic** (I consider this FG so I marked it **)
MC
MC
(random Chat)
FG
MC
(bmws blog)
(neezles thread)
(name changing)
Oblivious verson**
FG
MC
(weekly update)

perhaps this will look different? 8 MC topics, 6 forum games. the others - no offense here mate, but do they really interest you that much? will you find stuff amazingly interesting enough to make you visit the weekly update once more, or perhaps the last 15 posts talking about random QR codes and their decoding(extremely related to the topic, btw. not random chat at all)? will you visit the neezles topic to read the discussion about the /forum//forums which is definitely related too?

Look, my point is not anything against minecraft being here. it's another game and it's good to this forum. but you have to understand me here. I can't even participate in any discussion there. I'm not even talking about creating levels - let's start by viewing the MC world? nnnnope.

Man, before I felt like I was on Isa's side with this, but a post of Shos has legitimately made sense to me (scary stuff). In no way am I against MC, but this is more of disappointment in myself. Am I really on here just for forum games and the occasional random chat conversation? Either I need to come on here less often, or half-heartily finish some random cave I started making in early August, lol.  Myself... I am disappoint.

what you guys should be doing is trying to make sure this topic is neither the dud of the week nor the fail of the week, but somewhere in between where it will hopelessly drift into obscurity.

The ones who are here are here regardless of what we do. We're so close-knit by now that level-making has become an obscure thing, but activity is still at an all-time high. I encourage you to make a change, but not by creating another forum game, which essentially is what this is. If you want to raise activity, by all means. But do so in a way which relates to what we're here for, for example by making a HatPC/Red Remover/Scriball level or something, rather than yet another forum game, which essentially just spawns more of what you're criticizing.

The levels don't seem to do too much for activity. A blog or discussion about one of the games or general game design would work far better.

you use numpad right? lol. you made me notice that the talked post has *18* karma votes I think this is pretty amusing by itself. that means we have at least 18 active members apart from me!

In fact, I think isa's post does answer this right, yaya. however, the second part of isa's post is something I don't know what to think about. I really don't have that much time to start thinking about level ideas without being inspired earlier, so making a level for me as of late is not easy at all. However, the fact that this topic is sort of what I criticized does have its impact on me somehow.

This seems interesting too. coming to think of it, I think that for now, if anyone has some spare time while he's here, other than playing levels and stuff, we can progress with our articles - we have alot of them to write yet; and clearly discussing them is legit too. other than that I think making minicomps is the perfect idea. after reading livio's history of the IG part 3, what do you think about making a weekly comp again? small comps, all-games most probably, which last one week and are judged in the next one, while the next comp is held.

also, despite what we said about this topic, I think it eventually raised quite a fine discussion here

I think we need more topics like 'You have one post to...' because it essentially is a sort of mini-competition.

I actually don't use a numpad like most keyboards have, since I use a laptop that I mainly use, and I used my DSi to type that, and even that doesn't have a numpad, but I think I have one on my XP's keyboard.

People have school and work when it's not summer. Some older members leave when they have more stress ex. college or high school. Grades are pretty damn important.
