Most of the problems here gets solved via HTML5, if we skip the idea of using an applikation and start to make it in html5 we dont need to update it whit each new android/WP/iOS/ubuntu phone version, HTML5 can scale itself to work good white diffrent screen sizes so even if we designed it in mind for a 3,7" screen we can still make it scale fine to a 4,3" inch screen.
If we make it this way it will work on all new mobile OSes from the getgo (Or with minor changes)



Also HTML5 is the future so the person that makes it will have gotten a big amount of knowledge for the next big language

I don't use my iPod for coming on the site very often anyway, but when I do I often end up locking topics accidentally and then having to unlock them again. I suppose with an app that might be prevented, but I don't think I'd want to use up space that could be storing music even if there was an app.  

Oh, that's a good point. Music is important, guys!

It doesn't take a long post like the one by atvelonis to conclude that an app is unnecessary for this site.

Facebook and Twitter have apps so you can easily share things while you're on the go from your phone. I don't know about others but this site is not where I post things or visit while I'm on the go. Facebook and Twitter need apps to allow for easy integration with other features on the device like the camera. This place doesn't need any of those things. Oh yeah and Apple charges $99/year to have a developer account.

So it's unlikely I would be on this site outside of the home but if for some reason I was going to visit then a mobile site would be sufficient to use the site and it would be time better spent than working on and maintaining an app. There's a huge list of things to do to make this place better but nothing ever gets done around here; it's all just talk. If anything is ever going to get done around here then it should be something that will benefit all members instead of a small group of people who will end up getting bored of this place because they're connected to it 24/7 and then realize how dead it is.

And if anyone remembers about how Livio was talking quite a while ago now about how he was reading those books about designing and managing communities or something like that, I read some of those books as well at the same time and I remember about how it talked about you can have all these features and stuff on your community that you think are really cool but those don't make the community a success; active members do. So you can have an app and a site coded by Haily but that won't guarantee people will be engaged in the community.
