Here's a new forum game called Word Connect. Everyone starts with 20 points. The person who starts the game will say a word, and you have to connect the words by changing letters, adding letters, and anagrams. Everyone posts one connection every round, which lasts a minimum of 2 days. The best connections get the least amount of points deducted, the worst get the most. If you don't post a connection, you lose 5 points. Plurals aren't allowed, as they're too easy. You can't repeat words already used in the round, if you do, you lose 5 points. If what you say isn't a word, you lose 5 points. If you enter more than once, your entry will be skipped. Your word will also be skipped if it's not a real word or if it's already been used, and the previous word will be used instead.



Here's a table for how many points are lost in connections:

Adding 1 letter: -1
Changing 1 letter: -1
Anagrams (Words spelled with the same letters): -1

These do add up, so let's say the first word is blur, and the second word is blunt. One letter was changed and one letter was added, so 2 points would be lost.



Here's an example, where everyone has 5 points:

Isa: say (-1, first word)
Snipereborn: day (-1, one letter changed)
Mutts79: play (-2, one letter changed, one letter added)
Shos: played (-2, 2 letters added)
Livio: delay (-2, 1 letter removed, anagram)
Yimmy7: (-5, didn't enter)

Round one ends, Yimmy didn't enter, and lost all of his points, so he's disqualified. Isa has 5 points, Sniper has 4, and Mutts, Shos, and Livio all have 3 points. This keeps going until one person is left. If there is a tie, and multiple people end up with 0 at the same time, they will start again at 5 points until there is a winner. The winner starts the next game with a new word (maximum 6 letters). Also, when you say the next word, you should post the connections made, if you don't, I can simply go by how many connections I see. Sign-ups repeat after every game, and last for 3 days. The person who starts a game gets a slight advantage, and I don't know what you mean by what word to go to.

Oh, do we just say any word we can and there's no goal? Just "make a new word in as few steps as possible"?

The rounds are just there so everyone gets an even number of turns, the only time the person starting the round doesn't lose points is the first word.

i think the person who starts the round should find a word to ex. car, my entry is cart.
