Let's see here... Without a doubt, New York, Australia, that place where all the penguins live, and... Canada?

can you name all the communes in france?

can you count all the communes in france?

i've considered starting a france map game with this map of french communes from wikipedia

the plan was thwarted when the file was too large to load in inkscape

I'm not going to lie, that is one heck of an .svg.  I found it more amusing to watch it load than I probably should have.

You scored 74/196 = 38%.

Apparently that's below average, but I seriously doubt everyone who took this test did it legitimately. Bit embarrassed I missed so many European countries though.

44/196 = 22%. I had music on and I had to know the countries in English so don't complain. Was trying to put in "Norwaig" or "Norweig" and never would think it was "Norway". -_- The same about most of the European counties, but the Africa knowledge is rather real. ;d

Yeah, I'm surprised anyone would know more than the well-known African countries. I used to have a world map in front of my desk as a kid and I absorbed a few African country names by staring at it when I was bored, though never enough to answer as many as soccerboy. Maybe some of the younger members on here are still fresh from geography classes at school (I never did geography when I was home-schooled).

Geography, at least in the UK, is literally the worst subject ever

All you do is compile bits of data and compare people living in London and Mumbai

You scored 131/196 = 67%.
This beats or equals 57.2% of test takers.
The average score is 119.
Your high score is 131.

I can't believe I forgot Albania, Malta, Montenegro, Cyprus and Serbia I gave up on Moldova because I did not know the English spelling. St Kitts was a nice pick up though, as were St Lucia. The rarest country to remember that I got is East Timor (the Saints come in second and third). The most common that I didn't remember was Yemen at 66%.

(30 African countries)

Woah. Wonderful score, Isa! Hah, I actually had Albania and Malta. ;d So much people don't remember my neighbours (or their english spellings like me). ;c I'm not surprised though, I just read "Slovakia" probably first time in my life and when I typed in "Slovenia" I was surprised the Slovakia field wasn't filled in... I don't like Geography either, probably because my teacher is very strict and demanding, but at least I learn something thanks to this teacher.

97/196.  Africa was definitely my weakspot. I kept trying to spell Congo as Kongo which is correct too, but they wouldn't accept it. Or I'd look at the northwest and be like,  "oh,  that's the Songhay empire", then I remember that was in the 14-15th century (stupid World Civilizations II), and it's actually Ghana and a bunch of other countries. I seemed to forget most of the European countries Isa mentioned also (except Cyprus). I did remember Guyana and Liechtenstein though, so at least my dignity isn't completely gone.

105/196.

Got Cambodia at the last second. Took me an embarrassing amount of time to remember what Argentina was called. I kept on typing Algeria. I had to use chrome's spellchecker a few times (I could not figure out how to spell Venezuela). I also typed in CAR  (short for Central African Republic) several times, and it didn't give me it. But it gave me UAE, and accepts USA. I ask, why are those acceptable abbreviations for those countries but CAR not acceptable?

Apparently the rarest one that I got was Equatorial Guinea, followed by St Kitts, D'jibouti, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia and Azerbaijan.

I had some pretty bad misses. My worst was apparently Bolivia, but my worst misses were probably Kenya, Costa Rica, the Bahamas and Ecuador. Not being able to remember what Somalia was called also bothered me. There were a bunch of other countries I knew and "should have gotten", but that I couldn't think up in time. That's the big problem; there are so many countries that it's hard to recall all of them offhand.

At least I know the US states/capitals/major cities pretty well, though.

My keyboard doesn't have ø, but it's essentially the same letter as ö, so meh.
