Each person claims a point on an x/y cartesian plane that is at least two units from any given claimed point and at most ten units from the closest claimed point.
Then, everyone one will select a real number between 0 and 3, and an angle between 0 and 2pi. Whenever i go to calculate the turns, i'll hash the current unix time, if the first bit is 1, the person's point will move in the chosen direction for the chosen distance. if the first bit is 0, the person's point will move in a backwards direction for 3/4ths the chosen distance in the chosen angle. Turn order will be determined randomly. If a point enters within one unit of another point, a number is generated between 0 and 1. If the number is under 1/3, the entering point is deleted and the player is eliminated. If the number is over 1/3, the other point is removed. Any point which travels farther than 8 units from the origin is deleted also.
To join, post the location where your point starts.
I'll place my point at -3,3
As for the name, it's basically brownian motion except you get to choose the direction and the distance moved, and the overall movement should be in the direction you choose. ok that's not brownian motion but it's too late for that. |
