'Quirvy' said: It's not like you haven't entered into any of the 4 comps that aren't ending today or anything. Booooo. I intend on entering one if me and Bmwsu work our asses collectively off. I'm sorry to lash out at the staff's efforts. N and MC simply weren't happening for me; I already branched out enough with RR and LR. I wanted to enter the Open Caving comp, but you know it can be hard to summon remotely cool ideas at will. I might enter the No Ladder comp if I find time. I didn't boo the comps because of their lack of quality/quantity, I just want more that I can enter in. I like the small-scale comps because I'm better at making small scale entries. Yeah, whatever. Staff's doing great, my bad. I'll halfass an AA level.

I wasn't criticizing you for not entering into the competitions, I was criticizing you for wanting more when there are so many you haven't yet entered. We've basically only got 1 week left, so we're not going to be starting many more comps. And it just wouldn't make sense, anyways. This last week is rightfully going to mostly be devoted to people making entries into comps that they haven't done yet, like the No Ladders + No Platforms comp, which no one besides me has entered into, and the skyscraper comp, which has a few people working on them, but no entries yet. And also the collab. Oh boy does our team need to get that done.

The only reason I wanted more is because I can only see myself most likely entering 2 of the remaining comps. That's my fault though, so I'll be sure to win them.

I planned on entering all except Minecraft (don't have it) and N (can't get it to work).

Do teams still get penalized this year if they don't enter a comp?

Do we get penalized if the reason for lack of entry is laziness/lack of time?

did you know that in internet explorer, the probability of encountering a capital letter while writing a username to load from is much higher than in chrome? in chrome I get a capital once in a long time, in IE I get like 5 capitals per 'awombyshark' that I enter

Just giving you a last second heads up, the plan is that comps that lasted longer will be worth more points. Just something you might want to keep in mind.

Hah well, it's a bit embarassing but I got curious about Amberial's presence on the web since Im working on a new one so I set up Google Alerts.
So when the competition was made and indexed by Google I got a message on my email.
Really fun to see all these custom levels, the self-playing ones always blow my mind! Level editors have always been fascinating to me and now there is so much potential for communities to be built around them, I wonder if I should make a sort of Amberial Axis sequel for iOS and Andorid; with level creation and sharing at its core.

The majority of the games that I play have level editors. They bring a lot more to the game that I wouldn't actually know playing the regular levels.
About the possibility of a new one... bringing it to the market is a good idea, although having a level editor ON the phone would be very difficult. The touch screens are pretty small and getting a block exactly where you need to get it could be pretty frustrating (or at least for me... I can't type of touchscreens for my life).
Maybe have a link to the regular website for the game, along with the level editor itself, and have all the user submitted levels go to a database which can be accessed on the phone? To be honest, I have no idea how that works, but this is just from a kid's perspective. Although this is probably biased since I hate small touchscreens. A lot.

The IO is over. Judges are still judging the comps. Team Forums have been opened to the public.
Any thoughts on this year's IO?

'shos' said: next IO should be held when I have more time! 'A little over a month ago, shos' said: Obviously signing up! on july 11th I'm finishing my degree, and I'll be able to invest much more time
My thoughts include:
Without looking at the levels entered into competitions, I think that this is going to come down to The Womby Sharks and my team ( ). soccerboy really got very little help from his team outside of Xyteran. I thought that Xyteran was going to be their one member that didn't do anything, but now that the IO is over, I think that he was their second most productive member.
Team leaders: Yaya (maybe shos, but I feel like Yaya was more of a vocal leader), me, soccerboy
Flashmarsh was complaining about how he wasn't going to make any entries because the server wasn't set to True Creative. Bmwsu finally got that fixed (or at least I think he did), but Flash still didn't build anything for the minecraft comps
Krotomo definitely won the skyscraper comp.
I thought Bmwsu was going to play an active role in the IO, but he pretty much disappeared. I guess it's a good thing for my team; if he was more active, the womby sharks would be moderate favorites right now.
