Basics | War and Rebellion | Alliances and Trade | Capitals |
Every turn, you can add provinces to your nation by taking them using resources. Each neutral (white) province costs 5 resources each. You begin with 5 resources each turn, and any additional ones you have from your production. For sea zones, fill in the white circle. You may only claim zones that are touching your nation. Save your images in .png.
During a round, everyone must take their turn by posting a map. Each round lasts 5 days, and it does not matter what order you take your turn in. When the round is up, all people that did not take their turns are declared 'inactive'. | You can declare war on other nations. When you are at war, you can claim the zones of your enemy, but they cost 10 resources to claim instead of 5. The war will start the next turn. You may only claim the other person's zones that you are declaring war on the next round. Also, when at war, neutral territories still have the lower cost of 5 resources for normal zones and 25 resources for capitals. You can end war by declaring peace, which will go into effect immediately. If you exterminate another player's nation completely, you will gain 50% of their stored resources.
Non-players can rebel from a nation if no more neutral territory is left, taking 10%, or 8, of their zones, whichever is lesser, from their territory, but you are automatically at war with that player. | You can form pacts with other nations, which means they cannot attack you and you may send each other resources through trade.
When you trade, you can send up to 50 resources from your saved resources that were left unspent in your turn. When you leave resources in your turn unspent, they go into a bank of saved resources. You can spend these resources in your turn, or send them away to your allies. They collect over time, and are part of your resources that you can spend. | There are capital provinces distributed throughout the map that are roughly in the locale of real life Europe's capitals. The special capital provinces produce 5 resources per turn, and you can get an additional bonus of 1 resource per turn from all of that country's provinces if you own the whole nation. If one of your capitals is stolen, you will lose up to 30 of your saved resources, and the production bonus will cancel.

But even so, at 5 days per turn, it could be a month before anything interesting happens. I guess we'll just have to see how it works out.
Is there a way to end a war without someone a country falling? Do we get to name our countries or are they just named after us?
In the mean time I suggest that the next person to join places themselves somewhere near Turkey or Greece, otherwise Darvince is going to gain a lot of land with ease while everyone else scrambles to get theirs. He's the only one with nobody nearby. It's also just the most open area right now

Can you add any province you like in a turn, or do they have to be touching your country or something? I am also curious about naming like Quirvy.

They have to be touching your country, and you can name your nations but it wouldn't be "official" really.

Are you to imply that nobody else can join from now on? From what you said about rebelling, I was under the impression people could join at any time?

Quirvy: People can still join, but it is no longer the "sign-up" round and they will be at a severe disadvantage.
Jellsprout: Reykjavik is a capital, it costs 25 resources instead of 5.

Uhmmm... Can I still join? I'm the brownish smudge somewhere in the right. Can I still play this round? My country is the Sand Chrysanthemum or Santhemum. My program was Photoscape since our Paint is lost.

Here is a paint program.
http://getpaint.net/ Also, post the picture to http://min.us/ instead of facebook, facebook resizes everything and everyone else can see it.

So far every map update in this round has been bad.
Jorster, your map didn't include Jellsprout's nation.
Jellsprout, you tried to gain a capital when you didn't have enough resources to (I think perhaps Darvince should have marked the capitals with some special color or something on the main map so people wouldn't make this mistake)
And buboy's is resized, jpeged, and he improperly filled out his territory (perhaps because he didn't have an appropriate program?)
Fixed map: (I also changed my shade of purple a little bit)
I still haven't decided what my next move will be. I'm kind of waiting for Yaya to make his move since we're close neighbors, but I feel like his move actually won't affect where I go anyways. Buboy choosing that location makes both of our situations interesting. I thought Yaya was going to claim a lot of land easy as the game progressed, but now with Buboy there he can't claim nearly as much territory.

Yeah, Buboy really went and screwed things up for me and somewhat for you, Quirvy. I'm not sure if he picked that spot intentionally to complicate things or it was just dumb luck, but there'll be a good chance of him bordering one of us by the next turn. If I were him, I would've gone for the Sweden or Greece area.

I don't think buboy really screwed me over here simply because he screwed you over which makes my situation look better. Before you had all of that land up north and could immediately make a move to try and box me out from as much of that as possible. Now you have to compete with him for that land while I do whatever I do. I don't anticipate I'll gain anymore land because of buboy's move, but it still hinders you which is good for me since I might have been your only neighbor.
Anyways, you went exactly where I thought you'd go, and I'm going where I wanted to go from the start of this round.
NOTE: As I said in previous post, I felt like perhaps the capitals should have been marked on the playing map, so I decided to gray them in that way we don't have people accidentally trying to purchase capitals. If Darvince doesn't like it he can change the map back, but I thought it should be done since it isn't always entirely obvious what is a capital and what isn't (see: Denmark's capital, Tiny territories in the bottom-left corner of the map)
Speaking of which, how much does it cost to take another player's capital?
