Well Atvelonis took my top pick of the Volendrung which I was just going to refer as "that green spiky hammer" until he posted a link. In general I really like how all the warhammers look and that they were given plenty of variation. The coolest is probably the Elven warhammer.

I agree that the Keening looks really cool, but by the time I got it it's stats didn't really stack up to any of the other weapons I had been frequently. I do remember the quest that you get it for though, the guy who gives it to blows up or something at the end and then you can summon his ghost. Funny stuff. I wish the missing courier part could've been done better though. How is the person able to tell you exactly what cave the courier is lying dead in? I think it would've been better/funnier to either a.) just say what hold he was in b.) have the option to find him in a bar completely smashed instead of a cave c.) have the option that he sold it to a Khajit caravan for a better price or d.) have you find out the guy died before even leaving Morrowind, so must smuggle yourself in a crate across the border Runescape-style after which you arrive in a Morrowind settlement the size of a small village that you can't leave and you can just get the dagger and smuggle yourself back. Skyrim gets a lot of praise for the whole radiant dungeon thing, but I think the missed the opportunity to use their IMAGINATION at times

My favorite weapon stats wise also look pretty cool; dual wielded war axes. No, those daggers for just until you get 100 sneak. After that you break out the grown man toys. They're so fun to use.

There are probably tons I'm forgetting though

Keening is used in a quest for the College of Winterhold. Talk to Arniel. I was thinking of adding both Volendrung and Keening to my list, but I had cooler ones I wanted to pick.

Keening is one of the most important weapons in Morrowind. Basically, the main quest revolves around obtaining the weapons Keening and Sunder and the glove Wraithguard to destroy the big baddie.

Just saw this part of a documentary show-thing?

It was hard for me to follow, but it made a lot of sense out of things I was confused about before.

Also, I downloaded Falskaar for Skyrim... a pretty cool mod, but to spend 500 septims for every trip to Falskaar and back is a pain.

I feel like it already runs badly enough on my laptop, might make my iPod or an iPad explode (or bend). What would the controls even be? I did laugh seeing all the knock off Goat Simulators on the app store though

So, why do you guys think there has been a steady decline in activity over the past few years?

And, using this information, how do you think we can fix it?

People are loosing interest in HATPC and where never interested with the other games.

I remember at some point Sefro posting something about making it into a makers forum for like art and music... And really anything you can make. I couldn't find the post though :/

HATPC is becoming more obscure and unavailable on Neopets, no influx of new members

Losing old members

Member count is constant

Members are aging

Less time and interest

The end

there's very little influx of new members because of the fact that we can't advertise on neo (easily) from the risk of gettting frozen.
i guess while not everyone cares, i care about it. plus, most people on here don't go on neo any more.

thomas, jory and darvince were banned + all their shenanigans kinda ruined it.

I think advertising is less of a problem than how HATPC is virtually unknown now. The lack of a COTW has taken the game out of the public mind, lots of people still can't play it because of shockwave errors, and now you temporarily can't upload levels lol. When people see they can't play HATPC, they go to HATIC or HATKC which aren't exactly associated with making levels. When have we ever actually gotten a member through personal referral on Neopets or a post on the Neopets? Most have come of their own will.

I was referred through shos actually. I guess that doesn't make it that common, but still. The problem with shockwave we have fixed, at least for user levels.

Was there some user-level specific shockwave problem? All I can think of is where you would get one as soon as you tried to open HATPC. Yeah but not everyone sees it worthwhile to figure out how to fix it. If it hasn't worked for someone since they've joined the site, they probably just accepted it. The only people who would probably attempt to fix it are those who a.) have previously played the game and enjoyed it enough to take the time to figure out how to repair it b.) want the avatar. For most people it's just another game on the site among hundreds.

No, but it was getting around the shockwave error upon entering. By using an older version of the game: http://swf.neopets.com/games/g349_v9_99392.dcr

it allowed you to play it. you just can't send scores using it.

What they said.

I think it would be cool to start adding a non-levels section to the site. Like, with threads talking about games that you can't really make levels for (e.g. Skyrim; yeah you can build houses but there are only so many combinations), walkthroughs of stuff in those games, etc.

Right now the only two games the Interguild is getting any activity from are Minecraft and HatPC. In HatPC's case, people are getting somewhat disinterested and leaving. If we start implementing different types of games into the site, it could mean this community's revival. Right now there are, what, 10 active members? Look at other more popular sites; they have a much wider variety of games, which means a larger audience is attracted.

That's the big stuff. There's also issues because of laziness; people aren't contributing the things that this site needs to stay afloat *cough cough weekly updates cough cough*. We aren't making as many levels as we should (myself included; I haven't posted a level in months and I should really play Minecraft more) which means users don't feel the need to come on very often to check for new stuff. Then there's things like You Have One Post to..., Ask Sprout, and others which have not been seeing as much activity as they have in the past.

HINT. HINT.

And I'm not going to sit around being a bum. I'm going to do my part and help out the Interguild. Starting next month I'm going to try to release a new Minecraft level EVERY month. It will sometimes be something big that I've been working on for a while (something big is coming up in November-December-ish), and other times it will be something moderately sized or small such as a house or something.

Projects that I have on hold for whatever reason:

-Roller Coaster (I am just lazy that's why it is not finished but I will finish this soon)
-shhhhthisisasecretcitysortof (it is just a bunch of torches right now, near the Okapi but I will start making it when the server updates to 1.8)
-Pentagon (I built this giant pentagon in the east a long time ago planning to do something with it but i really can't think of anything to do with a giant pentagon please give ideas to me)
-other stuff that is secret or i forgot about (bleh)

Projects that I am currently working on:
-Atvelonis' Spawn City Shack on Different (dedicated to Shos, it is a really big underground "shack")
-NERs (I am going to finish them all. I'm not going to post them because they're just roads, but just pointing out that they are going to be finished eventually (within a couple of months probably) so don't ferret about it)
-Manchine Park (o glorius manchine built by the sheep kro in the wool age, let me preserve thou from destruction)
-other stuff that is either secret or somewhat collaborative or i forgot about (bleh)

If I don't have anything for a monthly level I will build something small like a house or a bridge or something random like doop (still clueless to who made doop but don't tell me i like it being a mystery)

So yeah. I'm going to do what I can, by contributing more often and speaking my mind. I would suggest all of you do the same.

Guilty as charged, I haven't been on Minecraft in over a week now I think. There are things I could build, but it's defintely one of those things where I need more motivation to start the projects than to actually work on them and finish them. That's more of a problem than no one ever being on when I check the server.

I've said it before, but I don't think Weekly Updates make a difference to activity at all. It just gives the illusion that there's more activity by having another topic in the Recent Posts box. They're written to inform people of what happened in the time since they were last on, but there's so little activity that most people who don't visit the site every have no problems catching up.

My advice is if you want to talk more about Skyrim, do it in the video game discussion threads. I feel like I always post way too much in those (and on the site in general) so it'd be nice to have someone share the burden. What are some games you think we should add to the site? Are you talking about ones beyond games that have level editors? Any examples besides Skyrim? It'd be an interesting way to shake things up, but I'd also be curious as to what you'd do with them besides walkthroughs and mods which are a dime a dozen on the internet.

What do you mean no one ever being on the server? I'm on almost every day in the afternoons. The only reason I wasn't on in the past day or two is that I was visiting my grandparents in Pennsylvania and just got back about an hour and a half ago.

I'm talking about any games, really. I feel like the Interguild needs to spread out some more, you know? Not just Skyrim, although that is definitely the one I would talk about the most, basically any game that more than one person here plays would do. I would probably talk about any game that I've played, such as relatively new games like Tomb Raider, of course Goat Simulator, obscure games like World of Goo (has anyone here played that?) etc.

About walkthroughs; there are a crapton of walkthroughs for a lot of things already, but they don't cover everything and are often fairly vague or incomplete. For stuff like Skyrim there is the wiki which is pretty great, but less well-known games have a smaller following so the walkthroughs of them are usually rare and meh. There's also a lot of easter eggs, in smaller games especially, that are mostly unknown on the Internet and IMO are worth sharing. Stuff like that too, I guess.

EDIT: People just aren't on at the same times a lot.

Still this. The problem with the video games idea is there's already MULTIPLE communities for that. Gamefaqs, for example. But I have never heard of a forum for sharing music, let alone art. Sefro also touches on why general gaming isn't a good idea, briefly.

Half the people here make art or music. A couple others make flash stuff thingys. And some of us would just enjoy criticizng things me Everything must be criticized

On the subject of laziness, when we aren't interested in something, we aren't gonna put work into it. Also, there's the subject of life. Alot of the members actually have lives to attend to.

Tiny paragraphs FTW. Anyway, I still completely agree with Sefro.
