After getting sucked in to it more I retract most of that statement. It's more fun than I initially thought. I'd recommend it to people who like open world games. Still maybe not worth 60 bucks but if it goes down to like 45 or something I'd recommend it

The computer I usually used to use sort of died about a week ago; when I try to turn it on, it just beeps. So I'm stuck using 1. my Chromebook, on which I can only play Aeon and even that is difficult because it's a bad computer, and 2. the other desktop computer I have, which is about 4.5 years old and was probably obsolete before it came out. After changing some of my settings, I managed to get it to do about 23 FPS on Minecraft, which is about the same as my old computer, but my old computer could do it without me having to change my settings. So anyway, until I get a new computer (which will probably happen around May), I'll only be able to play Minecraft and Aeon. The bright side is that those are the only games I've been playing recently anyway.

Continuing off what Jorster said, I agree that fallout 4 was a bit disappointing in some aspects, but wow they made the combat in this game waaaaay better than any of the other fallout games I've played

Although I haven't played it, atvelonis said that in Fallout 4, you can't just shoot someone and hide behind a barrel to avoid his companion. He told me he shot an enemy from a considerable distance away and then hid behind a car, and the companion of the thing he shot found him and killed him. Definitely sounds challenging.

Lucky. I'm not getting a new computer until some time around May, and it'll only be worth about $670.

I've gotten way back in to runescape, specifically old school runescape, and I'm trying to max my fishing. I'm at 90 right now, but the exciting thing is that I just got a Heron, the fishing pet. The chance of getting it for me was 1 in 461,808, so needless to say I'm pretty pumped

Recently, I've been playing a lot of World of Tanks Blitz, which is basically a team-deathmatch/control-point game with tanks. It's the mobile version of World of Tanks, which I expect I'll be playing frequently when I get my new computer. Basically in the game, in each battle there are two teams, each with seven players. The teams can win by annihilating the other team or capturing the base before the seven minute time limit is up. There are four kinds of vehicles; light tanks, medium tanks, heavy tanks, and tank destroyers. Each type of tank has certain characteristics, so by looking at what kind of tanks are on the enemy team, you can predict what they'll do. The game takes a lot of strategy, although it's still sort of like a shooter (except much better than shooters). The game's mechanics are very realistic; for example, armor is more difficult to penetrate at narrower angles, and different types of shells do damage in different ways. It's a very fun and addicting game.

I've been playing a lot of Binding of Isaac Rebirth/Afterbirth recently, basically it's a game in which you fight enemies like flies and sentient poop by crying on them, the characters you play as are based on biblical figures, levels include a basement, a cave and your mothers womb, items include your dead cat, the zodiac signs and a knife, and bosses include the four horsemen of the apocalypse, the seven deadly sins, your mother and Satan. It's an interesting experience to say the least.

I haven't played it very much, but I've been doing some Fallout 4 here and there (almost 60 hours currently) . It's good fun, I'm perfectly happy with it. Even got the Season Pass (apparently one of the DLCs is supposed to be the biggest Bethesda has ever made). It's actually my first Fallout game even though I've owned Fallout 3 and New Vegas for a while now. I like how your companion actually has a meaningful impact on dialogue and whatnot (I don't mind the voiced protagonist I think it works fine), and combat is neat and all. The only serious bugs I've encountered are a couple of minor side quests not working properly because I killed some people but I got it figured out with console commands. I don't really like the simplified dialogue wheel as it's a little misleading sometimes but I guess it's alright. I haven't gotten very far in any questlines though so there's still a lot for me to do.

I've been playing Skyrim a lot recently (thanks to atvelonis for buying it for me cuz I'm poor). I keep wanting to finish the Stormcloak questline but I still haven't gotten a set of the Falkreath and Morthal guard armor (and I don't want to kill guards because I'm a Thane in both of those places and it seems wrong) so I keep procrastinating. Also, I keep reminding myself to do more of the main quests so that I can use the Dragonrend shout so that fighting dragons won't be so much of a nuisance, but once again, procrastination is a jerk.

Been playing Portal 2. I bought it in 2013, played half of it, then didn't get around to doing any more until like a week ago. Fun game.
Also, I got Undertale the other day since my friend kept bugging me about it. Apparently it's a lot of fun, but I haven't started it yet.

I got The Talos Principle during the sale earlier; it's pretty solid, I like it a lot. The puzzles are way tougher than Portal's (a few of them have me stumped) and they're a bit more open-ended. Has a great story so far too, and the graphics are fantastic.

I finished that game a couple of days ago! Inventive puzzles, though the difficulty peaks about 2/3s through the game. The final level is magnificent - you'll really enjoy it when it comes. | | atvelonis |

Has anyone tried the Bioshock remasters yet? I got them for free on Steam earlier. I hear they aren't optimized terribly well, but then again the originals weren't either (looking at you, mouse acceleration). I hope the devs send out some patches in the future.

I've played plenty of cool games in my absence such as the Fallout: New Vegas (which I will get Atvelonis to eventually play), the original Deus Ex, Bayonetta, and more. But perhaps most noteworthy, is that I finally played Dark Souls. And by played Dark Souls, I mean beat 3 times consecutively across two platforms totaling over 170 hours. You knew what you were talking about, Jebby! As my old posts on the Interguild can testify, I had been mulling over playing it since early 2014, so it had been a long time coming. I had made my way through more difficult video games in the past couple years like Bayonetta and the first two Metal Gear Solids (I actually don't know if these are considered difficult, but they sure were to me!), and a podcast I listen to started gushing praise about it in one episode again, and it finally sent me over the edge.
I made it thru the Asylum with a moderate amount of trepidation, made the noob mistake of trying to fight my way through the Firelink Graveyard for two hours, and eventually got on the right path. I was a bit iffy about the chances of me finishing the game (not because I didn't like it, but because of the difficulty), but once I got past Queelag, I figured I was in it till the end. Havel's set also probably helped. Upon acquiring it, my main loadout for much of the game was Havel's leggings/gauntlets/armor, mask of the child, furysword, and grass crest shield. However, the Artorias fight was wrecking me, and motivated me to embrace the Fashion Souls, so I spent the rest of the game in black tights, the moonlight gown, witch gloves, mask of the child, black knight halberd, and silver knight shield. In some ways I really lucked out; the Taurus Demon jumped off a ledge before it could even hit me, Ornstein & Smough only took me 5 attempts, and the Four Kings only took me one. In some ways I did not luck out: I didn't realize until the Artorias fight (probably 80 hours into my first playthrough) that I had been assuming shield's attack values were their defense capabilities (my thoughts were: they're shields, so the first stat is how good they are at blocking stuff, right?), I messed up Siegmeyer's quest due to a stupid mistake, I almost almost ALMOST killed Manus on my first try, and I missed out on the drops from the Pinwheel and Stray Demon fights because I died after I killed them, but before I received the items. Overall, my first playthrough was a blast though, it took me 110 hours. The bosses I had the most trouble with were the Capra Demon, Sif, and Artorias. My NG+ playthrough went much smoother-- the only bosses that gave me much trouble on that were Ornstein and Smough (cuz I wanted to kill Smough first), and the Four Kings.
I started up a second NG playthrough the PC to play concurrently with NG+ on the PS3. It was... interesting. While I obviously came in with a lot more skill and knowledge than my first NG, I unintentionally did an absolutely terrible job of speccing my stats this time around, mainly because I couldn't stick to one build. I leveled up faith early on this time because I hadn't touched it in my other NG, and then I got a balder side sword drop early in the game, so I decided to focus on dexterity. But then I decided I wanted to try the Artorias Greatsword too, which required me to pump levels into strength and intelligence. Then by the time I had reached the last few bosses, I learned the hard way that I had seriously neglected raising my endurance to reasonable level. I got by the Lord Souls and DLC bosses thank to some craftiness and what I learned from my previous playthroughs, but Gwyn was seriously wrecking me this time around. Partly because I didn't have Solaire to summon this time, and partly because my endurance was so bad. After trying to salvage my endurance as best as I could, I ended up killing him with a heavy crossbow +14, which certain was an interesting experience.
I was totally tempted to keep playing after those three playthroughs, but I have so many games to play, and I already had bouts of burnout on my 2nd & 3rd times, so I figured I'd leave it for now and return to Lordran on a later occasion.
COMING SOON: A giant meteor. Please.
